Allura Red AC is a red azo dye and is used as a food additive E 129.

Properties

It is a dark red, water-soluble solid. The UV / visible absorption spectrum shows a maximum at a wavelength of 504 nm

Use

It finds use in the manufacture of confectionery, desserts, drinks, showers, bitter soda and ground meat dishes, cereals shares included ( English breakfast ).
