Alma Taylor

Alma Taylor ( born January 3, 1895 in London, † January 23, 1974 ibid ) was a British child actress and actress. She was one of the first stars of the British film.

Life

Her film debut was in 1908, before that she was already seen on the London stage. By 1915, she appeared alongside Chrissie White as Sally, the sister of the heroine Tilly, in a popular comedy series of the producer Cecil Hepworth on. She was engaged in Hepworth up in the 1920s and played mainly in melodramatic roles. In 1923 she had the leading role in Hepworth's ambitious but unsuccessful remake of Comin ' Thro the Rye. With the subsequent collapse of his film company also Taylor was no longer present to 1926.

In 1929, she then played in two German films, including The Hound of the Baskervilles, directed by Richard Oswald. She turned only a few sound films, and there had only small roles, the last in 1958.

Alma Taylor was married to the film producer Walter West. She died of a stroke.
