Alois Josef Krakovský z Kolovrat

Alois Josef Krakovský Kolowrat (Czech: Josef Alois Hrabě Krakovský z Kolovrat, born January 21, 1759 in Prague, † March 28, 1833 ibid ) was Auxiliary Bishop of Olomouc, bishop of Hradec Králové and Archbishop of Prague.

Life

He was the son of Colonel Bohemian country judge Prokop Krakovský Kolowrat. A brother was the Field Marshal Johann Karl Kolowrat Krakowsky. After studying in Prague and Rome, he received his theological doctorate degree and was ordained a priest. In 1781 he returned to Bohemia and was provost of the collegiate Kremsier after he was Olomouc canon before.

On 22 December 1800, has been appointed as Auxiliary Bishop of Olomouc and titular bishop of Sarepta Alois Josef Krakovský Kolowrat. He received his episcopal consecration on March 1, 1801, Archbishop of Olomouc and later Cardinal, Anton Theodor von Colloredo- Waldsee - Mels, who then appointed him as Vicar General.

In 1812 he was appointed bishop of Hradec Králové and raised 1831 as Archbishop of Prague, but died two years later.
