Alovsat Bakhshiyev

Əlövsət Qəzənfər oglu Baxşıyev ( German: Alövset Bachschijew, * 1956 Rayon Şərur ) since 2000, Prime Minister of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

He is ethnic Azerbaijanis. After finishing secondary school, he completed his studies at the 1973-1977 financial and credit faculty of the Azerbaijan Institute of Economic Affairs. 1977-1979 he did his military service in the Soviet Army.

1979-1986 he was director of a state farm in Şərur rayon and financial economist at the Agricultural Industry contract of the district.

Until 1991 he was a member of the CPSU, after which he joined the New Azerbaijan Party. 1990 and 1995 he was elected as a deputy to parliament. 1994-1998 he was Finance Minister, 1998-2000 Minister of Economic Development and Finance. In 2000 he was appointed by Parliament Speaker Vasif Talibov for Premier and confirmed by the Ali Məclisi, the Parliament Nachitschewans.

On June 27, 2013 President Ilham Aliyev gave him along with four other civil servants the Medal for "Service to the Fatherland " 3rd class.
