Alpaïs of Cudot

Alpais (also Alpis, Aupaies ), ( * 1155/57; † November 3, 1211 in Cudot ) was a hermit in the diocese of Sens and Orleans.

Alpais said to have been miraculously cured of leprosy and to have lived as an anchoress allegedly over a long time only on the Holy Communion. Her worship influenced authors such as Caesarius of Heister Bach and Robert of Auxerre. 1180 donated Adele, the wife of the French king Louis VII, a work "pour l' amour d' Alpaise ". Alpais was born on February 26, 1874 by Pius IX. beatified (fixed November 3 ). Her grave is located in Notre -Dame in Cudot.
