Life

The place of origin and her noble family are unknown. It is believed that she was the sister of the mayor of the palace Dodo or a second cousin of Bertrada the elderly. Her birth place is believed near Prüm.

Chalpaidas son Charles Martel ( * ca 688/689 ) was eponymous for the gender of the Carolingians, he is the father of Pippin the Younger and grandfather of Charlemagne.
