Alpal -2 is a gone into operation in July 2002 submarine cable for data exchange between Algeria and Spain.

The cable is 312 km long and has a capacity of 160 Gbit / s, where at the beginning of data with 5 Gb / s were transmitted. The total cost amounted to about 16.6 million euros. Landing sites are as follows:
