How much was this spy series ahead of its time, it can be seen from the fact that until 1970, the last episodes of John Kling's adventures had been sent. The orders of the agent John Kling had still based on a novel series of the 1920s. After alpha alpha Karl Michael Vogler took the lead role in a comparatively old-fashioned television series, which was named as John Kling's adventures also according to a previously known heroes and was based on ancient novels: Kara Ben Nemsi Effendi. These 1973/1975 broadcast series brought it to two seasons, while alpha alpha had been canceled after the first season. A similar approach as alpha alpha followed the mini-series The Blue Palace, were broadcast from that in the years 1974 and 1976 a total of five parts. Here we did not attempt again to explain complex theories in only 25 minutes, but devoted to each topic as much as 90 minutes, which is better received by the audience.

ZDF repeated the TV series in January 2012 on its digital channel ZDFkultur.
