Altes Stadttheater Eichstätt

The Old Town Theatre Eichstätt is the cultural, meeting, and social center of the town of Eichstätt.

History

The former Prince Bishop Zehetspeicher was built under Bishop Moritz von Hutten after plans by the architect Erhard episcopal Empire in the years after 1545, and is therefore also referred to as " Hutten blame ." Throughout history, the four-storey Steilgiebelbau with drag dormers, slit window with Schräggewänden, six arched elevator windows on the north gable and a salient polygonal staircase tower in the middle of the west side that has undergone various changes that took some considerable intervention in the original building structure itself. So the house was by a modification of General Ulrich in 1880 a neoclassical residential building for high military officials. In 1938 the house was rebuilt again and later used as a municipal theater, a cinema. The volunteer fire department was in the south area with two gated entrances place.
