Älvängen

Älvängen is a place in the Swedish province of Västra Götaland County and the historic province of Västergötland with about 4,000 inhabitants. It is located 30 kilometers north of Gothenburg on the eastern shore of Göta älv and belongs to the municipality of Ale.

The railway line was established at the Älvängen, was opened in 1886 and decommissioned in 1970. Since 2004, however, wrong again the Pendeltåg to Gothenburg. In the resort was with PA Carl Mark AB until its bankruptcy in 2003, Sweden's largest rope factory.
