Álvaro Noboa

Álvaro Noboa Pontón ( born November 1, 1950 in Guayaquil ) is an Ecuadorian politician and entrepreneur. He stood as a candidate in 1998, 2002 and 2006 for the presidency of his country and defeated every time in the runoff.

Background and education

Noboa is the youngest son of Luis Noboa Naranjo banana magnate and his wife Isabel Pontón, he had a brother and four sisters. His youngest sister died in 1999.
