Álvaro Novo

Álvaro Novo Ramírez ( born May 16, 1978 in Córdoba ) is a Spanish footballer who plays in the Spanish Segunda División plays at Real Sociedad.

Playing career

The beginnings

The native Andalusians Álvaro Novo began his career as a football player in the 1996/1997 season at the club of his hometown - Córdoba CF. Then he went to the third division side CD Carabanchel, with ten goals where he was able to convince in 37 games for the first time. There followed a two-year commitment to the B- team of the first division side RCD Mallorca.

Professional football

In summer 2000, Álvaro Novo was promoted to the first team of the Mallorcan, where he played for three years. Among other twice in the UEFA Cup and once in the Champions League. With Mallorca in 2003, he won the Copa del Rey. After this success, he moved to the ambitious League rivals Atlético Madrid, where he had a regular place in his first season. In the second year there were, however, only five games, so he went to Real Sociedad in 2005. He is one of the few non -Basque players.

Real Sociedad

In his first season at Real Sociedad, he had a regular place, then there were only ten missions in the relegation season 2006/07. After the descent, he nonetheless remained in the Basques, where he División Segunda is almost no longer considered.
