Alvin Burroughs

Alvin Burroughs ( called Mouse Burroughs, born November 21, 1911 in Mobile ( Alabama); † August 1, 1950 in Chicago) was an American drummer of the swing.

Burroughs grew up in Pittsburgh and played in the late 1920s in Kansas City with Walter Pages Blue Devils ( and participated in their recordings in 1929 ) and with Alphonse Trent. Then he moved to Chicago, where from 1937 he worked at Horace Henderson, from 1938 to 1940 at the Earl Hines, 1943-1946 by Henry "Red" Allen. After that, he was a member of the band by George Dixon. At times, he was also head of his own orchestra; He also worked on recordings by Lionel Hampton ( Down Home Jump, 1938), JC Higginbotham, Benny Carter, Albert Ammons and the late 1940s, with Bill Harris.
