Göta älv

Älvsborgsbron is a suspension bridge that crosses the Göta älv in the entrance of Gothenburg Harbour. It is 933 m long and has a wingspan of 418 m and a vertical clearance of 45 m. The six lanes depend on two 107 m high pylons. The bridge was designed by Sven Olof Asplund and inaugurated in 1966 by the then Minister of Transport Olof Palme.

The Älvsborgsbron connects Gothenburg with the industrial areas on the island Rambergsvallen. It is happening every day of about 65,000 vehicles.
