Alwin Schultz

Alwin Schultz ( born August 6 1838 in Muskau, † March 10, 1909 in Munich) was a German art and cultural historian.

Schultz studied in Breslau 1858-1859 and 1862-1864 German Studies and Archaeology. In 1864 he became the Dr. phil. doctorate. From 1870 to 1873 he was head of the provisional university library and from 1872 to 1882 he was associate professor at the local university.

He was from 1882 to 1903 Associate Professor of Art History at the German University in Prague. Schultz moved in 1903 to Munich, where he remained until his death.

Alwin Schultz was married since 1872, born to Anne of Wagenhoff.

Schultz wrote articles for various art magazines and has published several art historical treatises.
