Amalberga of Maubeuge

Amalberga of Maubeuge (also: Amalberga of Binche, Amalberga of Lobbes, Amalberge or Amelia, * 600, † 690 ) was a holy nun.

Amalberga of Maubeuge was married to Duke Witger / Witger of Lorraine. Her children Gudila / Gudula from Moorsel -Brussels- Eibingen, Reineldis / Reinelda of Saintes and Emebertus be revered as sacred. Gudula in turn is considered godson St. Gertrude of Nivelles, sister Pippin the Elder. Amalberga retired at the end of her life in the monastery of Maubeuge back.

Amalbergas remains were later transferred to the abbey Lobbes in Hainault. Your feast day is July 10.

It is not to be confused with Amalberga of Ghent.
