Amando de Ossorio

Amando de Ossorio Amando de Ossorio actually Rodríguez ( born April 6, 1918 in A Coruña, † January 13, 2001 in Madrid) was a Spanish film director.

Life

Ossorio - as the birth year is also erroneously stated 1925 - worked after his studies as a journalist for the newspaper and a radio station before he began writing screenplays and working as an assistant for documentary in Madrid. His work at the radio station, he continued on, until in 1963 his first feature film directed - the trend of the time according to a spaghetti western.

After several attempts in various genres - and prices for documentaries, which he continued turned - he turned towards the end of the decade the horror film to which he and the riding ends corpses ( in the original Los muertos sin ojos - The Blind Dead) to a now classic film series enriched. Due to his success, he remained the genre faithful to the end of its activity.

Ossorio died from a heart attack.
