Amarcord (ensemble)

The ensemble Amarcord (proper spelling: ensemble Amarcord ) is a vocal ensemble from Leipzig. It is now one of the leading vocal ensembles.

History

The ensemble was founded in November 1992 by three former and three current members of the St. Thomas Boys'. His first public appearance was not there on 12 December 1992 in the former guest house at the park in Leipzig. The first concert took place on 18 April 1993 Kohren- Sahlis instead, the 1000th in April 2009.

Under the name Amarcord (which means "I remember " in the dialect of Emilia- Romagna), the ensemble made ​​her first appearance in October 1993.

From the idea to celebrate its 5th anniversary along with other singers, musicians, initiated in 1997, the International Festival of Vocal Music " a cappella ", which has developed under the artistic direction of the group to one of the most important festivals of its kind.

Concert tours have taken the singer now in over 50 countries on all continents of the earth.

Repertoire

The repertoire includes songs of the Middle Ages, madrigals and Renaissance masses, compositions and cycles of works of European Romanticism and the 20th century and a cappella arrangements worldwide collected folk songs and popular songs of rock, pop, soul and jazz.

Awards

The work of the ensemble was honored with numerous national and international awards.
