Amasia (continent)

Amasien (also: Novo or Neopangaea, Pangaea Ultima / Proxima or Pangaea II) is the working title for a possible future supercontinent that is formed by the connection of the existing continents of Asia and North America. The junction is in this model between Siberia and Alaska.

Theory

The theory assumes that Siberia, depicting the connection of the Eurasian and the North American Plate, - as already over the last million years - continues to behave static. America and Asia push themselves together in projected 100 million years over the North Pole and the Arctic Ocean will disappear. Also, Africa and Australia drift north until they also join the amasischen continent. In 250 million years, there is then a world with only two continents, Amasien and Antarctica.
