The American University of Madaba (AUM) (Arabic الجامعة الأميركية في مادبا ) is a Catholic private university based in Madaba, Jordan.

Organization

The university received in 2005 the teaching license. Pope Benedict XVI. consecrated 9 May 2009 the foundation stone of the college in the presence of Abdullah II bin al - Hussein, King of Jordan, one on his trip to the Holy Land. By order of the "superior council of Education" in Jordan from May 29, 2011 renamed the university as " American University of Madaba (AUM) ". The lecture operating in English launched in the fall of 2011. The campus can accommodate up to 8,000 students and will employ up to 500 faculty members.

The Board of Trustees is the highest administrative body of the American University of Madaba. State recognition by the Jordanian Ministry of Education issued after consultations with the support of the university, the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem in 2009. Chairman of the Board of Trustees is the former Minister of Trade and Industry, Sami Gammoh, Bishop Salim Sayegh is his deputy. Founding Rector Victor Billeh.

It has cooperation agreements with universities in the USA ( University of Notre Dame, Gannon University), Italy ( Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Milan Polytechnic, University of Pavia, University of Genoa, University of Enna ) and Hungary (Catholic Péter Pázmány University ) (Updated 2011).
