Amil (rapper)

Amil ( born September 19, 1978 in New York as Amil Whitehead ) is an American rapper.

Career

Amil was discovered by rapper Jay -Z, who wanted a female voice for his 1998 upcoming album vol 2 .. Hard Knock Life. At this point, Whitehead was a member of the group Major Coinz. Jay -Z took with her and Ja Rule song Can I Get A. .. on, which appeared on the Rush Hour soundtrack. Afterwards further collaborations with Jay -Z, among others, Do It Again (Put Ya Hands Up ) and Nigga What, Nigga Who ( Originator 1999). Both were released directly as a single. They also supported artists such as Mariah Carey, Memphis Bleek, Jermaine Dupri, Funkmaster Flex and LL Cool J on their albums. 2000 Whitehead published their debut album, All Money Is Legal and the associated single I Got That with Beyoncé. The album, which placed itself at number 45 in the U.S.. The second single was 4 Da Fam (feat. Jay -Z, Memphis Bleek and Beanie Sigel ).

The single Hey Papi, from her, Jay Z and Memphis Bleek released in 2000 on the soundtrack to the film family Klumps and Nutty Professor and reached number 76 on the Billboard Hot 100
