Amir H. Hoveyda

Amir Hossein Hoveyda ( born April 5, 1959) is a professor of chemistry at Boston College in the USA. Hoveyda received his doctorate at Yale University for Ph. D. in 1986 and then completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard University.

He became famous for his studies on asymmetric catalysis and his significant contributions in the development of catalysts for olefin metathesis. In recent years, have gained great importance in organometallic catalysis by his work, the N -heterocyclic carbene ligands.

Hoveyda is co-founder and board member of XIMO AG of Switzerland-based company that is focused on the development and application of metathesis catalysts own.
