Ampeg

Ampeg is an American manufacturer of amplifiers for bass instruments with headquarters in Woodinville, Washington.

The company goes on the 1946 by Everette Hull and Stanley Michaels under the name Michaels -Hull Electronic Labs. Founded in company back. There developed by Hull pickup for bass was produced and distributed. He was called Amplified Peg, in the short form Ampeg.

1949 Michaels retired from the company, and Hull chose the present name. He was given six U.S. patents issued for amplifiers. The most famous products are the devices of the SVT ( = Super Vacuum Tube ) series, which already exists since 1969. This tube amplifiers deliver up to 300 watts. In 1986 the company was acquired by the St. Louis Music Inc.. In 2005, the then owner of St. Louis Music Inc, Eugene Kornblum the entire company sold at LOUD Technologies Inc., based in Woodinville. Loud decided after about half a year to abandon the entire production in the U.S. and move to the Far East. Since mid-2007 all products from Ampeg from China, Vietnam and South Korea come.

Devices of this manufacturer use among others, the bassist Cliff Burton, Billy Sheehan, Bootsy Collins, Robert Trujillo, Mark Hoppus, TM Stevens, Tom Araya, Les Claypool and guitarist Josh Homme.
