Amponville

Amponville is a commune with 388 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Seine- et- Marne in the Île- de -France region; it belongs to Arrondissement Fontainebleau Canton and La Chapelle- la -Reine. The inhabitants call themselves Amponvillois.

Geography

The town is located 67 km southeast of Paris. Nearest large city is located 14 km east Nemours. Neighboring communities of Amponville are Boissy -aux- Cailles, La Chapelle- la -Reine, Larchant, Guercheville, Fromont, Rumont and Buthiers. To place a part of the hamlet Jacqueville, which is located north of Amponville.

History

Amponville was first handed down in records in 1113. From the 12th century until the French Revolution, the village belonged to the Abbey of Saint -Victor in Paris, which was built a priory in Amponville.
