Anchor Island

Anchor Iceland ( in the Maori language Pukenui ) is an island in Dusky Sound in Fiordland National Park in the district of Southland in New Zealand. The island has an area of 1380 hectares, a height of 417 m and is 2.5 km away from the mainland. It is used by the Department of Conservation as a sanctuary for endangered species such as Tieke ( Philesturnus carunculatus ) and kakapo.
