The list of ancient Iranian tribes includes the iranischsprachige peoples and tribes so far as known from antiquity. Iran has always been a multiracial country composed mainly of the Assyrians ( Turanern ), Persians, Medes, Parthians, Sakas and Scythians, an Iranian Kurd and indigenous people. The affiliation of some tribes and peoples of the Iranian peoples is often not backed up. So this can be regarded only as a rough direction and will be subject to change depending on certain findings.
