Andesine

Andesine labradorite is considered as no longer as a separate mineral, but is a mineral mixture of albite and anorthite from the group of the feldspars and the mineral class of silicates. Andesine is a rock forming silicate framework with the general empirical formula (Na, Ca) Al (Si, Al) 3o8, which crystallizes in the triclinic crystal system and developed predominantly massive aggregates.

Andesine was named after its first location, the South American Andes.

Definition
