Andorran diner

Diner is a denomination of the Principality of Andorra for coins issued by the Principality itself. As the country de facto uses the Euro, but as yet does not issue own Andorran euro coins Diner pseudo coins are issued as an investment and collector coins, but not used commercially. A diner is divided into 100 Centims. The words " els diners " mean in Catalan "money".

The coinage of diners began in 1977 or 1983 by the Bishop of Urgell, in his capacity as Kofürst of Andorra and officially issued by the Servei d' Emission (Royal Mint of the episcopal Kofürsten ). Previously issued Diners were from private individuals. From 1998 the Consell General de les Valls Diner coins will also output. The French president as Kofürst has been minting no diners.

A dinner corresponded to 100 pesetas ( 1983-1985), after 125 pesetas.

Andorra Eagle

The Andorra Eagle is a coin of silver or gold, issued since 2008 and 2009, respectively. Denominations are 1, 30, 100 and 200 diners ( silver) and 2, 5, 10, 25, 50 and 100 diners ( gold).

Mintbar

Since September 2011, is an issue of Diner - mintbar of silver, similar to the Cook Islands mintbar available. There are weights of 250 g, 500 g, 1 kg, 5 kg and 15 kg ( 450 diners), which are manufactured by the Belgian company Umicore for Andorra. They are available in Germany, in contrast to conventional silver bullion at a reduced to 7 per cent VAT rate for coins because they are legal tender.
