Roman Catholic Diocese of Urgell

The Roman Catholic diocese of Urgell [ uɾʒeʎ ] ( cat.: Bisbat d' Urgell, Latin: Dioecesis Urgellensis ) is the Spanish diocese, headed by the resident in La Seu d' Urgell Bishop of Urgell as diocesan bishop. It stands out in that its diocesan Bishop is ex officio by the French president, one of the Kofürsten of Andorra and thus Head of State of an independent state. The whole country of Andorra is part of this diocese.
