André Forker

André Forker ( born July 31, 1979 in Dresden ) is a former German luger.

André Forker was active luger since 1989 and trained first at the Police Sports Club Dresden. His greatest successes came in the doubles with his longtime partner Sebastian Schmidt. The police chief starts for the SSV Altenberg. Since 1992, he was trained in the State Training Centre for Bob, luge and biathlon. Even at junior level the team rodelte together. In 1998 she was team Junior World Champion and Vice World Champion Junior in Sigulda.

Schmidt / Forker 2001 were ten at the World Championships. Things went better so far at European Championships. 2000 was the duo Fifth, 2006 Vice European Champion in Winterberg. In the overall World Cup in 2005 they came to the sixth, 2006 to fifth place. Twice, in 2005 and 2006 in Lake Placid in Altenberg ( with track record time ) they could decide a World Cup race for themselves. In German championships the team in 2002 and 2006 champion, 2000 and 2001 runner-up and in 2003 was third. The coach of the duo was Uwe Günter.
