Andreas Birkmann

Andreas Birkmann ( born August 14, 1939 in Reydt / Niederrhein) is a German politician ( CDU).

Birkmann his doctorate in 1967 in Cologne for Dr. jur. He was Judge of the Supreme Court in Karlsruhe and moved in 1991 to the State Chancellery of the Free State of Thuringia. From 1995 he was State Secretary in the Thuringian Ministry of Finance.

As the successor to Otto Kretschmer was Birkmann 1999 Justice Minister of the Free State of Thuringia.

After retiring from the state government in 2002, he was initially co-owner of the law firm tank, Feber and Birkmann in Karlsruhe. Since 1 January 2008, he is in Erfurt's partner company lawyers Spilker & Coll. active.

Birkmann was in his home town councilor in the municipal council of the city Gernsbach, Deputy Chairman of the CDU and board member of the Urban Community of the CDU Gernsbach.

Birkmann is a member of the Family Federation of Catholics, which he was president from 1996 to 2000. He is a member of K.D.St.V. Borusso -Westphalia Bonn. He is a member of the Multiple Sclerosis Society ( DMSG ), National Association of Thuringia, which he chaired from 1995 to 2003.

The trade association Thuringia belongs Birkmann as a legal consultant and honorary senator. He was awarded the Order of Merit of the State of Thuringia.
