Andreas Preschel

Andreas Preschel ( born 1 February 1961 in Schwerin ) is a German judoka, who celebrated his greatest successes in the light heavyweight division.

After Preschel had missed the European Championships through injury, he won at the World Championships of 1983 in Moscow the title. In the final he defeated thereby starting off for the USSR Valery Divisenko with Waza -ari for his special technique Hiza - guruma. At the Olympic Games 1984 in Los Angeles Preschel was due to the boycott of 15 Eastern Bloc countries, including the GDR, not participate. At the European Championships of 1985 in Hamar, he won a bronze medal. Starting for the SC Dynamo Hoppe Garden, he won the East German championship in 1983 and 1985.

The qualified sports teacher has been awarded the 4th Dan and works as a trainer at KSC Strausberg.
