Andreas Voss (botanist)

Andreas Voss ( born March 12, 1857 in Syke near Bremen, † April 9, 1924 in Heiligendamm ) was a German horticultural writer. Its official botanical author abbreviation is " Voss ".

He was editor of the 3rd edition of Vilmorin 's Blumengärtnerei ( 1894-1896 ) and wrote the lyrics along with August Siebert. He authored the work of Botany auxiliary and Dictionary, 6th Edition, 1922.

Carl Ernst Otto Kuntze named in his honor the genus Vossianthus, today synonym of Sparrmannia, from the family of plants (Malvaceae ).
