Andrej Komac

Andrej Komac ( born December 4, 1979 in Šempeter pri Gorici, SFR Yugoslavia) is a Slovenian football player. Since the summer of 2009 is the midfielder with the Israeli first division team Hapoel Tel Aviv under contract.

Career

Association

Komac began his professional career in 1997 near his hometown in HIT Gorica. In the Slovenian first division of the central midfielder came to his first stakes in professional football. After a year Komac moved to the former league rivals NK Primorje, where he became the starting players. In the summer of 2001 he decided to sign a contract with the capital club NK Olimpija Ljubljana. After a rather unhappy season for the player Komac returned to the 2002 /03 back to Primorye, where he was among the top performers in the team again. In 2004 he was appointed his home club, which has since been renamed to ND Gorica. With the then Slovenian champion Komac defended the title in 2005 and in 2005 reached the final of the national cup, which was lost with 0-1 against public Celje. In the summer of 2005, he ventured abroad, where he joined the Portuguese club Marítimo Funchal joined. After a short intermezzo Komac moved to the winter break 2005/ 06 after Gorica, where he could again win the title. Only half a year later, pulled the midfielder abroad again. For the Swedish second half of the 2006 season Komac signed in Djurgårdens IF. At that time elfmaligen Swedish champions from Slovenia belonged at first to the permanent staff. It was not until 2009, his contract was not renewed, he moved to Israel for Maccabi Tel Aviv. In his first season with the record champions Komac fought steadily to a place in the starting eleven. His debut in the Ligat ha Al he gave on Matchday 2 of the season, 29 August 2009 against Hapoel Petah Tikva, as einwechselte him coach Avi Nimni in the 69th minute for Yossi Shivhon.

National

Komac held various junior national team of Slovenia, before he was first appointed to the A-team in 2004. Since then, he has been appointed on a regular basis in the selection of his country. In May 2010, Matjaž Kek coach him nominated for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. It is only the second participation of Slovenia in the World Cup. In the ten crucial games to qualify Komac was used six times. In the World Cup itself Pečnik came on in two preliminary round games.
