Andrej SládkoviÄ
Andrej Sládkovič (actually Andrej Braxatoris; born March 30, 1820 Carp, Slovakia, † April 20, 1872 in Radvaň, a district of Banská Bystrica ) was a Slovak Lutheran pastor and writer.
Life
Andrej Sládkovič is the son who was born in Hronsek authors and teachers Ondrej Braxatoris ( 1782-1845 ). After attending high school in Krupina and the Evangelical Lyceum in Schemnitz ( 1839-40 ) and Pressburg ( 1840-1842 ), he studied theology at the University of Halle ( 1843-44 ). He was pastor in 1847 Hrochoť and from 1856 until his death in Radvaň.
He was a member of the circle around Ľudovít Štúr and one of the founders of Matica Slovenská.
According to him, on October 3, 1980, discovered by Zdenka Vávrová Asteroid ( 4781 ) Sládkovič is named.
