Andrés Calamaro

Andrés Calamaro ( Andrés Calamaro Masel, born August 22, 1961 in Buenos Aires ) is an Argentine musician and composer. His former band Los Rodríguez had great success in the 1990s in Spain.

Abuelos de la Nada

With eight years Calamaro, bandoneon and Tambor began a drum to play. At age 13, followed by electric guitar and piano, and at age 17 he was a guest part in the recording of an album of the group Raíces. Shortly after, he formed his own band, the Elmer's band with his friend guitarist Gringui Herrera. Her song Tristeza de la Ciudad ( City of Sadness ) became a hit.

When returned Miguel Abuelo Los Abuelos de la Nada to Argentina, he reassembled the old musicians and invited Calamaro in to play keyboards. The band had great success; Calamaro wrote horas and Costumbres argentinas some of their biggest hits, such as Sin gamulán, Mil, and also began to sing for them.

Separation

Before the dissolution of Los Abuelos de la Nada Calamaro In 1984 his first solo album, Hotel Calamaro. A second album, Vida Cruel, was taken shortly after the breakup of the band and got good reviews, but had little commercial success.

After a third album, Por Mirarte (1988 ), Calamaro started producing for other bands such as Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, Los Enanitos Verdes and soloists such as Fabiana Cantilo.

In the late 1980s Calamaro had his own band with his old friends Gringui Herrera and Ariel Rot, who have just returned from Spain. The trio recorded the album Nadie sale vivo 1989 de aquí with a number of guest musicians.

Los Rodríguez

Because of the poor economic situation in Argentina, Calamaro and Rot settled over to Spain. There they formed the band Los Rodríguez with Julián Infante. Germán Villela came on drums to it. The band had no bass player, but Guillermo Martin, Candi Avello and later Daniel Zamora accompanied them on recordings and tours.

Los Rodríguez had three successful studio albums: Buena Suerte (1991 ), Sin documentos (1993) and Palabras más, palabras menos ( 1995), as well as the live album Disco Pirata (1992) and the compilation of songs Hasta luego (1996).

Sin documentos brought international success with the mixture of flamenco and Latin American rhythms. They toured in Spain and Latin America.

Solo

During his collaboration with Los Rodríguez Andrés Calamaro Grabaciones Encontradas put together. After Palabras más, palabras menos, the band issued a "Greatest Hits" album, which sold well. Then the band broke up.

In 1997 Calamaro Alta on suciedad, of which more than half a million copies were sold. Again he toured in Latin America.

Calamaro began a song after another to write. In six months he had completed more than 100 songs. 37 of which were included in the next album, honestidad brutal. Te quiero igual, Paloma, Los aviones, Cuando te Conoci and La parte de adelante became hits. The double CD was recorded after separating from his girlfriend, which is reflected in all the songs. The album also contains a collaboration with Maradona.

In 2000, he recorded 103 songs for his album El salmón with five CDs.

Free music

In the following years, Calamaro participated in many concerts and recordings as a guest. He placed unreleased songs from 2001-2002 for free download on the Internet and said, "Music belongs to those who want to hear it, and no one else ."

He also made his home recordings available for free under DeepCamboya. Because of the poor quality of the recordings, a group of fans edited it again with the permission of the author and put them on their side Camisetas Para Todos. Calamaro began Salmón Radio Vaticano, a virtual recording studio, on his website.

In 2004 he gave El Cantante out an album with covers of Tangos and other Latin American rhythms and some of his songs published on the Internet.

Return

In 2005 he gave El Regreso ( The Return ) out, a compilation of live recordings of his first appearances at the Luna Park Stadium in the same year. The album was presented stadium before an audience of 20,000 in the Obras Sanitarias. 2006 Calamaro was thus won the Gardel Prices Best rock album by a male artist and best album cover, he also won the main prize Golden Gardel.

Then he gave Tinta Roja out, a collection of classic Tangos as El día que me quieras, Como dos extraños and Sur. El Palacio de las Flores, he recorded with Litto Nebbia, and 2007 La Lengua Popular. This was followed by Raíces 30 Años with the band Raícesim 2008 and 2009, the solo anthology Andrés with 6 CDs.
