Andrew Mawson, Baron Mawson

Andrew Mawson, Baron Mawson of Bromley -by -Bow in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets OBE ( born November 8, 1954) is a British minister of the United Reformed Church and politician who is since 2007 as a life peer member of the House of Lords.

Life

Mawson completed post-school studies in theology at the Victoria University of Manchester and graduated with a Bachelor of Theology from. He was minister of the United Reformed Church in 1984 and was subsequently founding president and chief administrator of the Centre Bromley -by -Bow in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. In addition, he worked as a manager, director and most recently as president of Community Action Network and founded in 1996 Stanton Guild House. He also was the founder and director of the Water City Group, and Andrew Mawson Partnerships. Because of its religious and social merits in 2000 he was honored with the Officer's Cross of the Order of the British Empire.

By Letters Patent of 29 March 2007 Mawson was raised as a life peer with the title Baron Mawson of Bromley -by -Bow in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets to the peerage. Shortly afterwards, was on 30 April 2007 his Introduction ( Introduction) as a member of the House of Lords. In the House of Lords he belongs to the group of so-called Cross Bencher.

Lord Mawson, who is also a member of the London Legacy Development Corporation, is also involved as chairman of the bipartisan Parliamentary Group for urban regeneration, sports and culture.
