Andrew Montague (Irish politician)

Andrew Montague is an Irish politician and served from June 2011 to June 2012 Lord Mayor of Dublin.

Montague studied veterinary medicine at University College Dublin and received his master's degree there in 2000.

He is a member of the Irish Labour Party and was the first time in June 2004 in the City Council of Dublin ( Dublin City Council ) elected. June 2009 was his re-election. On 27 June 2011 he was elected by 29 votes to the new Lord Mayor of Dublin ( Lord Mayor of Dublin), sparking Gerry Breen from. 10 votes were cast on the Independent Ciaran Perry, 5 votes to the candidate of Sinn Féin Larry O'Toole. Montague had acted already from June 2004 to June 2005 as Deputy Mayor ( Deputy Lord Mayor of Dublin).

On June 25, 2012 Naoise Ó Muirí was selected by the Fine Gael as his successor.

In addition to his political activities Montague works as a web designer.
