Andrzej Koźmiński

Andrzej Krzysztof Koźmiński ( born April 1, 1941 in Warsaw) is a Polish economist and university professor. He is the founder of Warsaw Akademia Leona Koźmińskiego and was its rector until 2011.

Life

Koźmiński closed in 1963 to study economics at the former SzkoĹ Główna Planowania i Statystyki ( SGPiS ) and 1964 studies in sociology at the University of Warsaw. In 1965 he earned his doctorate at the SGPiS. In 1968 he habilitated in here also. Koźmiński 1971 was a Fulbright scholar at Carnegie Mellon University, and from 1976 as an associate professor at the University of Warsaw active. Here he headed from 1981 to 1987 the Department of Management, in 1983 as a full professor.

In 1993 he founded, named after his father Leon Koźmiński Wyższa SzkoĹ Przedsiębiorczości i Zarządzania in. Leona Koźmińskiego, the predecessor of 2008 renamed Leon Koźmiński Academy College, he served as Rector until 2011, and which he is president today. From 1995 to 2001 he also served on the Executive Board of the European Foundation for Management Development. From 1995 to 2006 he served as a member of the Social and Economic Committee of the Polish Prime Minister. In January 2010 he was appointed to the newly established National Development Council of the Polish President.

As a visiting professor Koźmiński worked at the University of California, Los Angeles, Washington University and Central Connecticut State University. Since 2006 he is member of the advisory board of the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Rouen. He is also a member of the Polish Academy of Sciences and assumes the role of chairman of Telekomunikacja Polska SA true.

Koźmiński has received numerous high orders and decorations, so multiple stages of Polonia Restituta. He was until 1998 a member of the jury at the Galeria Chwały Polskiej Ekonomii.
