Andrzej Strejlau

Andrzej Strejlau ( born February 19, 1940 in Warsaw ) is a former Polish footballer, handball players and soccer coaches.

Andrzej Strejlau studied sports in Warsaw. As a football player, he brought it in the first Polish League as a striker at a top-flight for Gwardia Warsaw and played at the end of his playing career in the reserve team of Legia Warsaw. As a handball player he played for Varsovia Warsaw and became the Polish national handball team.

As a football coach, he began in the 1960s as manager of local clubs in Warsaw and was engaged by the Polish Football Association as a youth coach. During the Olympic Games in Munich in 1972, he was assistant coach of the Polish National Kazimierz Górski. After the Olympic victory in 1972, he was appointed as an assistant for the football World Cup 1974 in Germany by Górski. When winning the silver medal at the 1976 Olympics in Montreal, he was also appointed assistant team Górski. Gorski's successor Jacek Gmoch appointed him in 1977 as his assistant and he also participated in the World Cup 1978 in Argentina part. After the World Cup he was club coach again.

As a club coach, he was responsible for the teams Legia Warsaw (1975-1979), Zagłębie Sosnowiec (1979 /80), AE Larisa ( 1984-1986 ), Legia Warsaw (1988 /89) and Zagłębie Lubin (1995 /96). He was appointed to the Football World Cup 1990 coach for the last qualifying matches for the Polish national team in 1989 and remained coach until the failed qualification for World Cup 1994.

Today Andrzej Strejlau is regularly seen as a football commentator on Polish television and president of the fourth division Hutnik Warsaw.
