Anemonopsis macrophylla

Anemonopsis macrophylla is a species of the family Ranunculaceae ( Ranunculaceae ). It is the only species of the genus Anemonopsis.

Features

Anemonopsis macrophylla a perennial, herbaceous plant, the plant height of 60 to 100 cm is reached. The species forms a rhizome. The leaves are pinnate twofold to fourfold. The leaflets are ovate - lanceolate, 5-10 cm long and its edge is irregular cut or lobed. The flowers are arranged on long stems. You are nodding and have a diameter of 20 to 40 millimeters. The outer bracts are oblong to elliptical and are almost horizontally from the inner bracts, however, are verkehrteiförmig and upright.

The flowering period extends from July to August.

Occurrence

The species occurs in Japan on Honshu in sparse, deciduous, feuchthumosen woods before.

Use

Anemonopsis macrophylla is rarely used as an ornamental plant for groups of trees. It is in culture at least since 1877.
