Angela Ahrendts

Angela Ahrendts DBE ( born June 12, 1960 in New Palestine, Indiana) is an American manager. Since 2006 she is CEO of the fashion company Burberry.

Originally from the provincial town in New Palestine, Indiana Ahrendts, the third of five children of a former fashion model, completed a bachelor's degree in marketing and merchandising at Ball State University in Muncie. The day after her final exam 1981, she moved to New York, where she worked in sales working at a men's outfitter.

Throughout her career, she has held senior positions at Donna Karan (1989-1996), Henri Bendel (1996-1998) and Liz Claiborne ( 1998-2005). In 2006, she was hired as the new head of Burberry and successor of Rose Marie Bravo. In 2013 it was announced that she is with an annual salary of almost 20 million euros of bestverdienende CEO of all the FTSE 100 Index out CEOs.
