Angela Braly

Angela Braly ( born July 1, 1961 in Dallas, Texas, United States) is the president and CEO of WellPoint Inc. and a member of the firm's executive committee.

She took over this position on 1 July 2001. Previously, she was Deputy Managing Director and Head of Public Relations. In this position she was responsible for marketing, public relations and for all legal questions.

Before she worked at WellPoint, she worked as a lawyer. She studied at the Law Faculty of Texas Tech University. She received her PhD from Southern Methodist University.

In 2007, she earned $ 14.86 million, especially with stock transactions.

It is, according to the U.S. business magazine Forbes in 2008, the fourth most powerful woman in the world.
