Angela Eagle

Angela Eagle ( born February 17, 1961 in Bridlington ) is a British politician and Member of Parliament in the House of Commons. She is a member of the Labour Party.

In 1992, she succeeded in gaining as MPs in the House of Commons, and was re-elected in the next general election as deputies. She is representing the constituency of Wallasey Wallasey around the village. In September 1997, shortly after the election, Eagle had in an interview with the British weekly The Observer her coming out. In June 2007 she was appointed by Gordon Brown as Secretary of the Treasury ( Exchequer Secretary to the Treasury) in the government. She is also a member of the National Executive Committee of the Labour Party. After 18 years of relationship she went in September 2008 with Maria Exall a registered partnership, and is thus in accordance with the deputies Ben Bradshaw and David Borrow the first lesbian Member of Parliament in such a partnership.

1997 also drew her twin sister Maria Eagle as Labour MPs in the House of Commons one.

The only other pair of twins in the House alongside the two is the twin pair Sylvia Heal and Ann Keen.
