Angela of the Cross

Angela de la Cruz ( born January 30, 1846 in Seville, Spain, † March 2, 1932 there ), was a Spanish foundress and is revered in the Catholic Church as a saint.

Life

María de los Ángeles Guerrero Gonzalez, who had previously worked 17 years in a shoemaking workshop, founded in 1875, the " Sisters of the Society of the Holy Cross " and took the religious name Ángela de la Cruz. Today the Order has 700 members who are active in Spain, France and Argentina.

Ángela de la Cruz was beatified and canonized on May 4, 2003 by Pope John Paul II on November 5, 1982. Your Memorial Day in the liturgy is May 5
