Angoulême CFC
The Angoulême Charente Football Club is a French football club based in Angoulême, capital of the French département of Charente.
Founded in 1920 as the ACFC SC Angoulême; this was the name of the club until 1925, then he called himself AS des Charentes. From 1948 to 1992 he played as AS Angoulême; this time was his most successful, which led him even into a European competition. 1992-2005 was the club AS Angoulême Charente - 92 and by economically justified relegation from the fourth division, he took his present name.
The club colors are blue and white of the Angoumois; league team plays in 1935 inaugurated the Stade Camille Lebon, which has a capacity of 6,500 seats. In the 2013/14 season it occurs in the fifth division at ( CFA2 ).
League membership
Professional status has owned 1945-1948 and 1965-1984 Angoulême. First class (Division 1 since 2002 in Ligue 1 renamed) played the club from 1969 to 1972; in the 2012/13 season, he takes only the sechstklassigen Division d'Honneur. The AS Angoulême was the one club who is working ( FC Sarrebruck ) 1948/49, inadvertently helped the 1.FC Saarbrücken to its one-year stint in the French second division, because the ASA in this season, no team got together for the professional league operation.
