Angry Young Men

Angry Young Men ( German: " Angry young men " ) or short Angries is a journalistic buzzword that has been applied to many British artists and writers the mid-1950s.

The first author, who was so named was John Osborne at the enormous success he had in 1956 with his play Look Back in Anger ( look back in anger ). In the following period to be associated with this term socially critical writers with radical or anarchist views, themed social alienation and class conflicts. How Osborne also came from Harold Pinter, John Braine, Alan Sillitoe and Arnold Wesker of the working class, while Kingsley Amis and John Wain were middle class.

Other authors such as Colin Wilson, The Outsider which at the same time as Look Back in Anger appeared, were also counted among the Angry Young Men, although they had little to do with this setting.
