Ann Kristin Aarønes

Ann Kristin Aarones ( born January 19, 1973 in Ålesund ) is a former Norwegian football player and World Champion in 1995.

Career

Aarones began her career at Spjelkavik IL in their hometown. For most of her career, she spent at Trondheim -Ørn SK, the most successful women's football club in Norway. Here she brought it to five Norwegian national champion and six Cup victories. At the end of her career, she was still playing at New York Power in the WUSA North American.

For the Norwegian national team they played from 1990 to 1999 111 caps and scored 60 goals. After she had not heard at the first World Cup in 1991 in China, where Norway had become vice world champion in the squad, it was in Sweden in 1995 World Champion and six-goal top scorer of the tournament. In their second and final 1999 World Cup in the U.S., it reached the fourth place with the Norwegian team. In addition, it was established in 1993 in Italy and 1991 European Champion in Denmark Vice European Champion. In 1996, she won the bronze medal at the Summer Olympics.
