He came from a noble family that had come from Mecklenburg to Denmark, and was the son of Colonel and commander of the fortress Carl Albert von Passow and grandson of General Hartwig von Passow. When her husband went as captain of the Danish East India Company after Tranquebar, she was left, resigned in February 1757 at the premiere of the first Danish Singspiel Gram og signe once more, and published as a literary woman room dramas.
