Anna-Eva Bergman

Anna-Eva Bergman (* May 29, 1909 in Stockholm, † July 24, 1987 in Grasse, France) was a Norwegian painter.

Anna-Eva Bergman is one of the major Scandinavian and internationally renowned representatives of the modern art after the Second World War. She painted in the style of Abstract Expressionism. You will be counted for the Nouvelle École de Paris.

Life

Anna-Eva Bergman studied in 1926 at the Statens Academy of Fine Arts in Oslo and continued her studies in Vienna and Paris continued.

In 1929 she married the German painter Hans Hartung ( 1904-1989 ). The marriage was under pressure from her mother - divorced again relatively quickly - in Hartung's absence. In 1952, the two met again and married in 1957 a second time, they remained together until her death.

In 1959 was Anna - Eva Bergman participant of the documenta II in Kassel.

Hartung and Anna- Eva Bergman lived and worked together for many years in France, particularly in Paris. She died on July 24, 1987 in Grasse, two years before her husband.

Since 1994, Hartung -Bergman works of the artist couple are exhibited at the Fondation.
